EternaBondAlumiBond: Properties and Applications
December 2, 2019As aluminium structures increase in number, tenacious support services struggle to come up with new ways to care for them. It’s not such a hard job; the metal seems capable of looking after itself. Remember, aluminium surfaces are naturally corrosion-resistant, and the alloy provides a high strength-to-weight ratio. Anyway, to bind and seal such lightweight constructs, contractors have learned that EternaBondAlumiBond has just the right metal-binding capabilities to offer.
Aluminium Surfaces Are Taking Over
With tougher alloy variants entering the market, there’s no limit to the number of constructs that have adopted this alloy family. Recreational Vehicles (R.Vs) are made of lightweight aluminium, as are smaller vehicles. There’s aluminium building siding, which is durable and weather-resistant. Trailers, boat hulls, pipes and drain pans, they’re all now being fabricated out of aluminium. Now, this is where a common problem rears its ugly head. Sometimes, just sometimes, vehicles leak. An RV will develop a leak. A car or boat will spring a leak, too. When this happens, when the siding on a building provides an inroad for a watery trickle, then a building contractor or vehicle maintenance professional needs to be called in to seal the surface breach. And, when they start the repair work, what is it that they use to plug the leak? EternaBondAlumiBond, of course, is the preferred aluminium binding product.
EternaBondAlumiBond: Properties and Applications
Remarkably, this bonding tape doesn’t just stick aluminium surfaces together. On the contrary, the adhesive compound sticks to stainless steel, carbon steel, brick, concrete, fibreglass, polypropylene, concrete, and a whole array of building materials, too. Back with the lighter metal, aluminium ductwork immediately accepts a sticky layer of AlumiBond tape. Now, this is the kind of application example that can lay waste to weaker sealing tapes. There’s dampness in HVAC ducting, plus hot air, and then a chiller to send a blast of cold air to harden any pliable materials that get in its way. No worries, this sealing tape won’t harden, won’t detach when it gets wet, and it won’t ever crack or split when attacked by the heat or cold.
Of course, ducting conduits are hidden away. What if the application area is outside and in full view of the sun? Used to plug an RV or boat puncture, the patch will be attacked by UV rays. Again, some sealing tapes respond poorly to ultraviolet radiation. They peel or harden. EternaBondAlumiBond tolerates UV rays and remains flexible, even when the temperature rises as high as 66°C or drops as low as -50°C. Equipped with a tensile strength of 1000psi, installation techs should remember to clean the application surfaces if the tape is to perform as described in the above passages of text.
